In Trägweis my great-4-grandfather
Georg Schmidt (born August 24th ,1716) married
on July 8th ,1748 in Trägweis Margarethe Müller
from Haus bei Weißenohe. His father was Johannes Schmidt
who had married on November 7th, 1707 in Kirchenbirkig Margaretha
Heß from Waidach. The son of Georg Schmidt and
Margarethe Müller was Johann Schmitt (born September
7th, 1757 in Trägweis). The family then went to Auerbach/Upper
Palatinate (Oberpfalz).

In Auerbach Johann Schmitt (b.
September 7th, 1757) married on February 5th, 1798 Cunigunda Baier
(born 1767, died there November 5th, 1822). Their son Georg Schmitt
(b. November 5th, 1804, d. March 7th in Bergfried) bought the farmhouse
“Abel” No. 15 a in Bergfried. He was married to Margaretha Siegmann
(b. 1800 in Hellziechen, d. November 29th, 1884 in Bergfried)
Their son Georg Schmidt (b. April 23rd, 1829 died June 26th, 1889)
married Walburga Trummer (b. April 30th, 1838 in Dorfgänlas,
died 1900) and their son was my grandfather Konrad Schmidt (b. April
1st, 1860 in Bergfried, d. April 7th, 1924 in Bergfried).

.He married my grandmother Anna Maria
Schreglmann (b. March 22nd, 1865 in Pappenberg). Her family
is from Penzenreuth. There lived my great - 5 - grandfather Johann
Georg Schreglmann (b. August 1st, 1715 in Penzenreuth, d. July 30th,
1781 in Hermannshof). His son Johann Georg Schreglmann (b.
March, 4th, 1755 in Hermannshof) married Kunigunde Kraml (b. April
17th, 1751, d. July 24th, 1835 in Pappenberg). They acquired a farmhouse
in Pappenberg. My great-2-grandfather Johann Anton Schreglmann (b.
August 30th, 1792, d. October 22nd, 1871) married on January 1st, 1822
Katharina Metzner (b. November 6th in Pappenberg, d. March 29th,
1852 in Pappenberg). Their son Peter Schreglmann (b. February 13th,
1832 in Pappenberg, d. June 16th, 1908 in Pappenberg) married Magdalena
Schertl (b. January 6th, 1837 in Pappenberg, d. June 29th, 1871 in
Pappenberg).
In 1937 the National Socialist Regime forced
the people of this part of Bavaria/Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz) to leave
their villages and hamlets. The Nazis enlarged the already existing military
training area Grafenwöhr for their rearmament project.
My grandmother (she was a widow at this
time) had to go to Neudorf bei Luhe-Wildenau. Relatives still live
there. |
